The Garden’s staff photographer Ivo loves trees, especially in winter. In winter you can see the stark, architectural beauty of a tree and how it interacts with the landscape. Taking pictures of trees is rather difficult, though I would say that Ivo makes it look pretty darn easy.

If you would like to try your hand at snapping some tree portraits, you better hurry up and hop a train to the Bronx. Spring is certainly in the air, and with spring comes leaves in all their breezy, branch-hiding glory. ~AR

Tree Portraits

Sequoias and maples and evergreens, oh my! Rich Pomerantz captures the beauty of the Thain Family Forest in his latest post. Did you know that The Forest is the largest remaining tract of old-growth forest in New York City? -JH
