One of the tags I follow on our Tumblr dashboard is “Botanical Garden” just in case someone comes to visit us and tags their photo or comment with just “Botanical Garden” or “Bronx Botanical Garden” or something like that (our official name is The New York Botanical Garden). Ostensibly, scrolling through this tag is work, but I have to be honest with you, it’s more like world travel. I get to see gorgeous photographs and slices of life from around the world, like this incredible, misty, mysterious shot from somewhere in Ireland. Sates my wanderlust on a daily basis. ~AR

Palms as a Model for Rainforest Evolution

New York Botanical Garden scientists were involved in completing this first-ever “genus-level dated phylogeny of palms,” which may provide insight into the evolution of rainforest biodiversity.
